Default Various questions about Expansions...

Okay I recently came back to GW and I now have all 3 expansions, I last played as Prophecies.

The game used to have 3 main things to do.

1) Make a RP character and Mission.
2) Take your high level character to UW or FoW if u had favor, or there was that new place to the north of droknars or whatever that they made right before I stopped playing.
3) PvP

And Normal skills could be obtained at the vendor on the Lava islands near the end, or u could obtain some of the normal skills thru quests, u could unlock them for PvP, and all elites were obtained thru Capping them.

Now, I have some questions that I would like to ask about each expansion, So that I dont feel disoriented, overwhelmed, and lost anymore lol. I just need some guidance to get me started.

First question - Factions. I know you could make new characters and play thru the missions with them. I also seen that you could head there with your level 20 characters. How does this work... When you bring a level 20 character do you start at the first Factions mission? Or are the "starter" missions skipped?

Second question - Same as first except for Nightfall

Third question - Will doing the missions for Factions and Nightfall lead me to all the PvE content from the expansions?

Fourth question - Eye of the North I know is focused for level 20 characters only. I've gotten to the Eye on my main character. Will following the quest chains here lead me to all the Eye content?

Fifth question - Skills... Are they pretty much handled the same way? Meaning.. are the non-elite skills all be unlocked thru the vendor OR questions, and are the elite skills capped? or is it a must to get some thru quests or any certain way now? I seen a vendor in Eye but he didnt have many new skills at all, and since it says eye alone added 150 new skills... this seems kind of strange to me. According to the advertizements I'm supposed to have something like 800 new skills combined between the 3 expansions lol.. 150 + 350 + 300. I just have NO IDEA where to get started unlocking all of these.

And I think that is all. If there is anything else I need to know on where to go for the new content of each expansion, or what I have to do to unlock the new skills, please let me know

Keep in mind that all those new skills are across 10 professions. There may be 150 new skills in Eye of the North, but that means its only 15 per profession.

To bring a Tyrian(prophicies) char to Factions you go to Lion's Arch and talk to an NPC there who will give you a quest. Its extremely short and easy and will take you to a city in Faction.

Note* it is not the first city in factions but the city where most chars reach by lvl 20.

Nightfall works exactly the same, save the city you are taken to is more like Ascalon city and has char of every lvl there.

Both Nightfall and Factions have dual paths in the storyline. This means you can complete the storyline while not completing every mission, the missions you miss can be completed after you have beaten each chapter.

The quest chains in Eye of the North should lead you to most content, some extra PvE skills and dungeons are located in side quests you may have to explore to locate.

The best way to see all skills that are availible to you is to visit the Island of Balthazar, via the ship south of Lions arch on the large map. Locate a Priest of Balthazar there and he can show you all skills availible to you and what ones you have already unlocked.

Also there have been new additions of skill Tomes. These tomes come in 2 variaties. One will teach you a normal skill and an Elite Tome will teach you an Elite skill. To learn a skill with a Tome you must have that skill unlocked on your account, this can be done by purchasing the skill for another char on that account or buy using PvP rewards to unlock at the Priest of Balthazar.

I hope that answers all of your questions

Remember too, that you have to have the city of where you want to go unlocked, so you have to start a character on that continent and get to the main cities.

Hmm, my Legendary Guardian Ranger would beg to differ with you. I've never started a Canthan or Elonian character on that account

You can get almost everywhere with a Proph character. EotN skills are unlocked through quests you can not buy them.

That's not true.

There is a quest you can get from an NPC in L.A. (I forget which, look it up on a wiki) that takes you to Factions (Kaineng Center). The "starter quests/missions" (and starter island) are skipped.

Same answer for how to get there. Most of the "starter" quests/missions are skipped, but there are a few quests that get you Heroes and learn to control them, that you still do. NF is different in that you start out in Kamadan whether you start a new character or bring one over from another campaign.

Not sure what you mean here (and I assume you mean campaigns, not expansions). You will explore most of the "maps" when doing the quests/missions, but in both Factions and Nightfall there are some missions you don't need to do to finish the storyline. In Factions you can do either the Luxon side or the Kurzick side to "finish the game", but you'll want to do both to get to all the areas. Also, in Factions, there are "elite missions" which you don't need to do and which don't necessarily show-up during normal play.
In Nightfall, there are different paths you can take depending upon what heroes you choose, etc., but again, you can do all the quests/missions if you want.

Again, it depends upon what you mean. For example, although you pass through many of the dungeons during normal play, there is separate content for most dungeons. Following the quest chain will uncover the entire "map" though.

Yes and no. I can't recall if there are skills you get as quest rewards in Factions and NF, but you can eventually buy all the skills from NPCs. In EoN you can buy some skills from an NPC, but I think all of the PvE only skills are gotten through quest rewards.
And, of course, there are skill Tomes - check a wiki to get more info on them.

You bought the PvE only skills from a skill trainer after unlocking them in PvP?
